From January 2, 2019 we will serve our winter menu with no less than 11 delicious new dishes, a lovely Indonesian dessert and a new sorbet:

• soto Betawi (beef soup from Jakarta with coconut milk)
• salad daging sapi (salad with thin slices of fried beef with ground peanuts and sweet soy sauce)
• salad jamur (salad with fried mushrooms, ground peanuts and sweet soy sauce)
• ayam bakar Padang (chicken in a light red sauce from Padang with cumin, cinnamon & clove)
• ayam pelalah Lombok (chicken in a red curry from Lombok with coriander seeds,  sand ginger & citrous leaves)
• daging kare Yogya (beef tenderloin in a curry from Yogyakarta with kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass & kemiri nut)
• sambal udang Palembang (gambas in a red sauce with salam leaves & lemon grass)
• ikan woku-woku (seabass fillet in an orange sauce  from Menado with ba­sil)
• urapan (lukewarm vegetables, grated coconut, shrimp paste, red pepper & kaffir lime leaves)
• urapan veg. (lukewarm vegetables, grated coconut, red pepper & kaffir lime leaves)

On August 3 Jun Indonesian Cuisine has it’s 5th anniversary!

• Tempeh mendoan (tempeh fried with flour, coriander seeds and spring onion)

We also serve a wonderful full and rich after-dinner coffee from Indonesia: the Gayo Blue Mountain (from Simon Lévelt).

More choice for the wine lover!
A good glass of wine goes very well with Indonesian food. That’s why we have added 3 red en 3 white and 1 rosé wine to our wine list. We now serve 9 white, 8 red and 2 rosé wines.
The new red de wines are a Nero d’Avola and a Primitivo from Italy, and a Dornfelder from Germany.
The new white wines are a Cuvée Classique from the Gascogne (France) made of Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Gros Manseng, a Pino Grigio from Italy, and a Pouilly Fumé from France.
The new rosé is a Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé from Chile.

On July 12th our summer menu starts with 8 new starters, main dishes and desserts, such as the fresh springrolls with crayfish and salsa, gulai ayam Lombok (chicken in a yellow curry with star anise and cinnamon), udang kalio (gambas in a red curry from West Sumatra with kunyit leaves, lemongrass & galangal) en es buah (mixed fruits, ice and jelly cubes in a light syrup and pandan extract).
The rice table offers a delicious new soup with quaill eggs: soto telor puyuh.

Spring is in the air! So on April 5 we start with our spring menu with 11 delicious new starters, main dishes and desserts, such as the  Ayam kuning Lombok (chicken in a curry with clove, turmeric, galangal and lime leaves) and the Ikan pindang Flores (seabass fillet from Flores in a yellow sauce with basil and tomato). And the fresh spring rolls are back!
There’s also a special dessert: panna cotta with chai (exotic panna cotta with tea, spices and cinnamon).

On 26th February I followed a course of Balinese cooking at Rumah Desa on Bali. We made three Balinese bumbus which we used for a number of different dishes. I got some nice ideas for the restaurant. The pictures below show the weighing of the ingredients, the blending of the bumbu, the cooking and the result: the dishes. They were delicious!

On September 19th we received from Tripadvisor the sticker with Recommended on tripadvisor.nl. We are very happy and proud of the good ratings from our guests. We will not rest on our laurels, but we will continue to do our best for the highest quality of our food, service and hospitality.
